Greenhouse gas / air pollutant trends at Cape Ochiishi

In 1994, the Center for Global Environmental Research, Earth System Division, National Institute for Environmental Studies, established a station at Cape Ochi-ishi. The station is located at the southern tip of the cape and 50 m above sea level. The long-term trend of greenhouse gases and air pollutants at higher latitudes has been monitored since then.

This page presents the most up-to-date trend and annual change of carbon dioxide (CO2), ozone (O3), sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitric oxide (NO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), optical black carbon (OBC), and particulate matter (PM2.5, PM10) observed at Cape Ochiishi.

Please note that the values and plots provided here are not fully quality-controlled and contain outliers. The data for the short-lived component will be replaced with more accurate data in the near future. Please use the quality-controlled data published in the "Dataset List" for scientific use.
