| Abstract: |
In Hokkaido University, Hiyamai Experimental Forest, compartment 7, a natural Beech Secondary forest has been investigated to examine its satand structure and dynamics. A study plot with area 0.5-ha was introduced in 1995, followed by repeated tree censuses (5-year interval).

The study plot is located on a flat wetland (280m asl) in compartment 7 of the Hiyama Experimental Forest. The size of the study plot No. 1 is 50m × 50m. The size of the study plot No. 2 is 50m × 50m.
