| Abstract: |
In Hokkaido University, Tomakomai Experimental Forest, compartment 339, the dynamics of Natural forest were investigated at stands. In 1991, a tree census with an area of 0.20 ha (40 m x 50 m) was established. At the 1st census, we measured Diameter at breast height (DBH) . After the 2nd time, we measured Girth at breast height (GBH) at 5-year intervals (10-year intervals for the 1st and 2nd times). Besides, There are multiple years of logging records in compartment 339(1956, 1969, 1970, 1977, 1980, 1989).

北海道大学苫小牧研究林339林班天然林の動態を調査した。1991年に面積0.20 ha （40ｍ×50ｍ）の調査区が設置された。調査間隔は1,2回目は13年間隔、2, 3回目は6年間隔、4回目以降は5年間隔で実施した。調査項目は1, 2回目は胸高直径を、3回目調査以降は胸高周囲長を計測した。また、調査区の立地する339林班では複数年にわたって伐採の履歴が存在する（1956・1969・1970・1977・1980・1989）。

Before 1999, diameter at breast height (DBH: 1.3 m above ground) was measured with a caliper (2 cm unit). Since 1999, girth at breast height (GBH: 1.3 m above ground) was measured with a steel tape and converted into diameter.
