| Abstract: |
In Hokkaido University, Tomakomai Experimental Forest, compartment 102, the dynamics of Natural forest were investigated. In 1989, a tree census with an area of 0.200 ha (40 m x 50 m) was established, however based on results of measurement in 2002, prot area was chenged to 0.248 ha (40 m x 62 m). The census interval was 12-years between the 1st and 2nd census, and 4-years between the 2nd and 3rd censsus. After the 3rd censuss, census were conducted at 5-year intervals. At the 1st time census, we measured Diameter at breast height (DBH) . After the 2nd time, we measured Girth at breast height (GBH). Besides, There are multiple years of logging records in compartment (1935, 1974, 1977, 1978, 1982, 1986).

北海道大学苫小牧研究林102林班天然林の動態を調査した。1989年に面積0.200ha （40 m×50 m）の調査区を設けたが、2002年度に行った区画測量の結果面積を0.248ha（40 m×62 m）に変更した。調査間隔は1,2回目の間は12年、2回目と3回目の間は4年、3回目以降は5年間隔で実施した。また、調査項目は1回目の調査では胸高直径を、2回目以降は胸高周囲長を計測している。また、調査区の立地する102林班では複数年にわたって伐採の履歴が存在する（1935, 1974, 1977, 1978, 1982, 1986）。

In 1980 and 1985, diameter at breast height (DBH: 1.3 m above ground) was measured with a caliper (2 cm unit). Since 1995, girth at breast height (GBH: 1.3 m above ground) was measured with a steel tape and converted into diameter.
