| Abstract: |
Rodent-Mouse long-term monitoring survey in the Wakayama Experimental Forest (compartment 2 and 9-10) since 1998. One plot is set in the natural foest of evergreen broad-levaed tree (i.e., compartment 9-10), and another plot is set in the secondary forest of evergreen broad-leaved trees (i.e., compartiment 2). In the two plots, monitoring survey on individual trees have been also conducted.
The Rodent-mouse surveys were held for 3 days in spring (April to June) and autumn (September to November) every year. In each plot, 50 Sherman traps were settled in grid patterns with 10-m interbals (5 Rows x 10 Columns). The captured mice and rodents were recorded their species identity, sex, mass, and were also marked individually by toe-clipping. After these processing, the individuals were released at their captured location immediately.

北海道大学和歌山研究林（2林班および 9,10林班）での野ネズミの個体数動態。1998年から始まったこの調査は、常緑広葉樹林の長期観察林2箇所で行われている。１つは、天然林(9-10林班)で、もう１つが二次林（2林班）にある。50個のシャーマントラップを10mおきに設置（5列×10行）し、毎年春（4～6月）と秋（9～11月）の2季節に3日間ずつ実施（各プロットの合計ワナ数は100個）。捕獲したネズミは種同定、雌雄判定、体重測定、個体識別（指切り法）を施した後、放逐している。
