There is a Picea glehnii natural forest in compartment 241 of the Teshio Experimental Forest, Hokkaido University. The forest received insect damage. Dameged area has been investigated to examine its stand structure and dynamics. This Long-term permanent plot with area 0.5-ha was introduced in 1986, followed by repeated tree censuses (at about 5 or 10 year intervals).

北海道大学天塩研究林241林班アカエゾマツ天然林の林分構造および動態を調べるため、1986 (昭和61) 年に形状 71m x 71m、面積0.5haの調査区を設け、約5年間隔 (2006年以降は10年間隔) で、胸高周囲長、樹高、樹冠幅を計測している。
