Abstract:
Since 1967, a long-term forestry study has been conducted at a 110 ha study site in the Nakagawa Experimental Forest. The objective of the study is to develop a relevant management system to extract sustainable yield in harmony with maintainance of stand structure. The "control method", which intend to maintain timber volume and quality in the stand, has been applied. The stand has a representative tree species composition in the region; a natural conifer-broadleaved mixed forest with a multiaged structure.

中川研究林の照査法試験林では、1960年台後半から総面積113haの天然生林を対象に毎木調査・伐採試験が継続されてきた。本申請は、2016年から開始される6回目の調査（第5経理期）を対象とする。50年におよぶ森林の長期動態を記載して、国内外に他に例を見ない長期大面積試験林としての価値をさらに高めるとともに、これまでに引き続き、持続的資源利用を目的とした適応的森林管理を実践する。既存のデータおよび前試験課題で得た立木位置情報等を重ねあわせて、林分・個体に及ぼす撹乱（択伐）の長期影響を明らかにする。
