A Picea abies plantaion forest has been investigated to examine its stand structure and dynamics. A study plot with area 0.25-ha was introduced in 1986, followed by repeated tree censuses (5-6year interval)., 北海道大学中川研究林14林班ヨーロッパトウヒ人工林の林分構造および動態を調べるため、1986年に面積0.25haの調査区を設け、5-6年間隔で、本数、胸高周囲長、生枯を計測している

The census targeted trees with girth at breast height (1.3 m) equal to or larger than 30-cm in the plot. Trees were identified by metal plate, and their species names were recorded., 調査区内の胸高周囲長30cm以上の樹木を対象とした．金板で個体識別し、樹種名を記録した．
