Abstract:
Center for Global Environmental Research, National Institute for Environmental Studies is conducting comprehensive monitoring of carbon cycle in terrestrial ecosystems under the program of Global Environmental Monitoring, which covers a wide range of environmental fields such as the atmosphere, ocean and biosphere. The Fujihokuroku (FHK) site is located in a forest at the foothills of Mt Fuji in Yamanashi Prefecture at an elevation of 1100 m. The long-term carbon cycle monitoring started in 2006 including the carbon dioxide exchange between the forest and the atmosphere as well as the carbon cycle processes in the ecosystem. This dataset includes the data for decomposition processes in a study plot (4-ha).国立環境研究所地球環境研究センターでは、大気・海洋・生物圏を含む地球環境モニタリングの一環として、陸域生態系の炭素収支に関する総合的なモニタリングを行っています。山梨県の富士山麓(標高約1000m)に位置する富士北麓(FHK)サイトでは、森林と大気の二酸化炭素交換量をはじめ、森林の炭素循環の各プロセスに関する長期モニタリングを2006から実施しています。このデータセットは、富士北麓サイトに設置された4ヘクタールの調査プロットにおける分解過程に関する測定結果を含んでいます。

Step 1:
Description:

Location調査プロット

Study plot is 4ha (200m x 200m). Dominant species are approximately 50-55 years old planted Japanese larch (Larix Kaempferi Sarg.) and Fujizakura (Prunus incise).

Step 2:
Description:

Fine root dynamics measured by minirhizotron methodミニライゾトロン法による細根

Fine root production and its turnover are measured using 27 minirhizotron tubes installed in 2006 and 2007 in the study plot.

Step 3:
Description:

Decomposition processes of organic matter in the forest森林残置有機物の腐朽プロセス調査

Decomposition rate and mass of woody detritus (Japanese larch) are measured in the study plot.
