There is a natural forest in compartment 233 of the Teshio Experimental Forest, Hokkaido University. This area of Teshio Experimental Forest is managed with a selection system.
The dynamic state of the forest after selection cutting is observed in this plot. A study plot with area 0.5-ha was introduced in 1990, followed by repeated tree censuses (at 5-10 year intervals).

調査は北海道大学天塩研究林233林班で実施した。択伐後に変化する林分を観察するため、1990（平成2）年に形状100m x 50m、面積0.5haの調査区を設け、5-10年間隔で、本数、胸高周囲長などを計測している。

The location of trees is given as a local X, Y coordinate (at the 1990, 1995 census).
Y coordinate is replaced with X coordinate in comparison with data of 1990 and 1999. The direction of the 100m axis turns over in 1999.
At the 2010 census, new targeted trees was surveyed.
